JUST A THOUGHT
He never moved. Never acted. Just a thought. That’s all it was
He sat there quietly, watching.
The sun warmed his bones.
This was his favorite spot.
It gave him a clear view of the playground.
He could see all of them-running, spinning, climbing.
Small bodies suspended in the air for a breath too long.
Gravity forgotten.
Fearless, as only children can be.
So trusting.
So breakable.
A thought drifted through him.
Unwelcome.
Uninvited.
How fragile a life could be.
How quickly a moment could shift.
How the simplest gesture could become something else entirely.
He sat with the thought.
Let it pass through him like a shadow crossing the sun.
Until;
“Daddy! Come push me!”
He stood up.
And walked toward the swings.
